Please read Our Patient Information for more detail on scheduling elective outpatient ambulatory procedures and tests, visitation and what to expect in preparing for a surgical procedure.
Bon Secours Community Hospital's renovated Same Day Surgery unit opened in November 2004; the location includes eight new telemetry beds for patients. We've also added a waiting room to accommodate our patients' family and friends. The telemetry beds are equipped with a comprehensive monitoring system that continuously records and wirelessly communicates vital patient information to a central monitor and computer workstation. The monitor and receiver keep track of patients in bed and walking around. The pre-operative and post-recovery areas have been expanded to allow for greater patient comfort and include an all new "step-down" recovery area. Now you can breathe easy knowing we're ready to take care of our community's surgical needs - gastroenterology, gynecology, ophthalmology and orthopaedics - to name a few.
Surgery can be difficult for loved ones as well. But Bon Secours has taken steps to take the worry out of waiting. Our same-day surgery waiting area is located on the same floor and is dedicated to making family members comfortable; with plenty of seating, television, vending machines and a place to have a snack or read a newspaper.
