VALHALLA, N.Y. (February 11, 2022) Westchester Medical Center Health Network (WMCHealth) named Phyllis M. Yezzo, DNP, RN, CPHQ, to the position of Senior Vice President and Chief Nurse Executive, which is an expansion of her responsibilities from a regional to Network role.  In her new position, Dr. Yezzo oversees nursing operations at all WMCHealth hospitals, skilled nursing facilities and provider practices.

Most recently, she served for seven years as Senior Vice President, Patient Care Services and Chief Nursing Officer at Bon Secours Charity Health System, a member of WMCHealth.

Dr. Yezzo has more than 40 years of experience in nursing administration, quality management and clinical transformation. Her background also includes clinical and administrative positions at Northwell Health's Lenox Hill Hospital and its Center for Learning and Innovation.

A certified professional in healthcare quality as well as an Institute for Healthcare Improvement Advisor, Dr. Yezzo holds a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey; a Master of Science degree in Healthcare Administration from Iona College; and a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Long Island University.  She is also a Graduate Fellow from the Wharton School of Management for Nurse Executives. 

Dr. Yezzo is the current Treasurer of the American Nurses Association – New York (ANA – NY), and a member of the American Organization for Nursing Leadership, the National Association for Healthcare Quality and the American College of Healthcare Executives.  She also serves as an active member of the Hospital Advisory Committee of The Joint Commission for Hospital Accreditation Programs.  Dr. Yezzo was an adjunct professor for quality management at Iona College and is currently an adjunct professor of nursing leadership and nursing research at Touro College.
